•Make practical the shift between theoretical understanding and psychotherapy with stepfamilies
•Utilize an Evidence Supported, step-based approach to the treatment of stepfamilies
•Conceptualize the ongoing treatment of stepfamilies in an applied & comprehensive manner
•Articulate the questions necessary to be able to shift from a familiarity with ideas, to a
position of clinical confidence
•Challenge previously held conceptions of treating stepfamilies
About Scott Browning:
Scott Browning, Ph.D. is a recognized scholar and author on the treatment of stepfamilies. He serves on the expert panel for the National Stepfamily Resource Center and on the Stepfamily Interest Group of the American Family Therapy Association (AFTA). Dr. Browning teaches in the Department of Professional Psychology at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His primary areas of interest include: family therapy, the diverse family, stepfamilies, empathy and special needs children. He is a co-author of “Stepfamily Therapy: A 10-Step Clinical Approach.”
